If you find you have a question that is not answered below then then give our sales team a call or drop us an email and we will endeavour to answer all questions within 1-2 hours during normal working hours.

What is the width of a scaffold board?

The width of a board is 225mm which is approximately 8.86 inches wide, this is a standard size regardless of the length.

What is the thickness of a scaffold board?

The thickness is the same for all size boards and this is 38mm and that’s approximately 1.50 inches

What lengths do you stock?

You will find our timber scaffold boards come in these popular sizes:
• 13ft (3.9m)
• 10ft (3.0m)
• 8ft (2.4m)

However, if there is a particular length that you require then please ask as we may be able to cut these down for you. In general, you cannot get a larger length board than 13ft.

What are the weights of your boards?

Please find below the weight of our grade a scaffold boards, these are in size order:

13ft (3.9m) 19.00kg
10ft (3.0m) – 14.62kg
8ft (2.4m) – 11.69kg
6ft (1.8m) – 8.77kg

Can I use these for shelves?

Yes, you can purchase any of our new scaffold boards and make them in to shelves for indoor use or even in sheds and out houses, you can make classic shelves with cast iron brackets for your kitchen or shelving to fit in an alcove area of your living room and cube or boxed shelves. There are many images for inspiration and guides online on how to make scaffold boards in to shelving, if you have the right tools and you are DIY minded.

Are your boards banded?

Yes, all of the scaffold boards we supply are banded with a metal band fixed with nails. If you require scaffolding boards that do not have the band around each end of the board then you can easily remove them yourself. Unfortunately, we have to keep ours banded because the metal band helps the board edges from splitting plus all of the British standard information is usually stamped into the metal.

What grade are your boards?

We will usually supply you with a Grade A timber scaffold board which means they are graded to a manufactures or industries standard by machine or visually. If you require BSI standard, flame retardant, super deck or metal boards please contact us for a price.

Can I use these for a table?

You can make many different kinds of table tops, picnic style tables, dining room, work area tables or outdoor garden tables. If you have the creativity you can make some amazing, rustic looking furniture.
